Alisson continues to work his way back to full fitness, having picked up a calf injury in the Premier League opener at home to Norwich last month.

The Brazilian has shared an Instagram video of himself training hard, accompanied by the caption: “Starting the morning in a good way!!”

Alisson is seen jogging in between cones on a soft mat, although it doesn’t exactly look like someone closing in on their return.

Liverpool have been worryingly coy about the 26-year-old’s comeback and it may be that Adrian continues to deputise for a while yet.

Reds’ Alternative to Robertson

Imagine life without Andy Robertson in a Liverpool shirt – a horrifying thought, isn’t it?

Well, it turns out the Scot may never have joined the Reds back in 2017 had it not been for an injury to Emerson Palmieri.

According to The Athletic‘s Liam Twomey, Jurgen Klopp saw the then-Roma left-back as an “alternative summer target” to Robertson, before he suffered cruciate ligament damage on the final day of the season.

Emerson is playing well for Chelsea at the moment, but there’s no denying that they ended up signing the right man in Robertson.

The 25-year-old has exceeded all expectations, becoming one of the Premier League‘s more influential players.

U23s’ Premier League Cup Opponents Revealed

Liverpool’s under-23s will be looking to earn Premier League Cup glory in 2019/20, improving on their group stage exit last season.

Their opponents in the first stage of the competition have been confirmed, with Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and either Huddersfield Town or Oxford United pitted against them.

A meeting between the latter pair on September 9 will determine who progresses into the Reds’ group.

Neil Critchley‘s side will take on each of their opponents home and away, with the top two in the group making it into the last-16.

Dates, kick-off times and venues are yet to be confirmed.

LFC Women’s Madrid Experience

Liverpool FC Women teammates Amy Rodgers and Niamh Charles travelled to the Champions League final as Liverpool supporters back in June.

Speaking about the experience to the Guardian, Rodgers admits it was “unbelievable”, as the two Reds players hid in plain sight among the many thousands of fans in Madrid:

“The experience was unbelievable. Just being in Madrid before the game, the amount of fans there, Liverpool shirts everywhere.

“And you run into random people through the day who you knew. The atmosphere. I was so lucky to get a ticket. It makes you want to get to games that people want to watch and to want to win things as well.

“I wore my Rodgers shirt, me and Niamh Charles were there: ‘Rodgers’ and ‘Charles’ across our backs and Avon across the front.

“People kept asking: ‘Where did you get that shirt?’ I don’t think we told them because we didn’t want to draw attention to ourselves.”
