Liverpool players were thrilled after a “fantastic result” against Arsenal earned the Reds another three valuable points in the Premier League.
The Reds secured their third successive win at the start of the new season in fine fashion after cruising to a 3-1 win over Arsenal at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s men dominated proceedings, with Joel Matip’s opener setting Liverpool on course for an emphatic victory.
Mohamed Salah twice found the net in the second half with Lucas Torreira netting a consolation late on for the visitors to deny the Reds a clean sheet in what was the only blemish on the day.
Liverpool were full of energy throughout in what was their most complete performance of the campaign to date, and for Jordan Henderson it was one which left his team feeling “delighted” come the end of the 90 minutes.
However, as is often the case with this Liverpool outfit the pursuit of continual improvement and a complete performance left him lamenting the Gunners’ lone goal when speaking to LFCTV:
“Another three points against a good side, good performance so overall delighted with the game.
“They had won both of their games so we knew it would be difficult, but we knew if we did the right things and played to our strengths, defended really well and were clinical in front of goal that we would hurt them.
“We managed to do that so overall it was a really good performance.
“But if we want to be really critical, we’ll be disappointed with the goal. I should have cleared it on the edge of the box but again got to be delighted with the three points – it’s tough in the Premier League.”
Taking to Instagram after the game, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho were quick to celebrate another “big win” for the Reds:
The skipper, Andy Robertson and James Milner were similarly overjoyed by the result as they lauded a “top performance” from the entire team which maintains Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the season:

The win over the Gunners ensures confidence remains on the up and Klopp’s men will look to continue keep the momentum rolling when they make the trip to Burnley on Saturday.
