Solskjaer hints at tactical change for ‘important’ player

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that changing Paul Pogba‘s position “might be something we have to think about” going forward.

Pogba played the full 90 minutes as United laboured to a 2-1 victory over Watford at Old Trafford on Saturday.

United’s midfield problems were exposed by the impressive Hornets, with goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial rescuing the hosts.

After the game, Solskjaer suggested that United might try and impose themselves more often by moving Pogba’s position to replicate his France role.

“Paul is important to us,” Solskjaer said.

“We couldn’t keep the ball today and, as I’ve said it was probably 50-50 possession and, at home, we’re a bit disappointed with that.

“But Paul has been away and he’s played two games for France. Of course, he’s playing a bit deeper for them and that might be something we have to think about to get him more involved in the game, make him dictate games more for us.”

Not that deep, Jose.

“That’s from game to game. As you can see, Paul can do both. He can attack and defend.”

Alrite, Zizou.
