Two-time CAF Africa Cup of Nations winner Herve Renard has been named the new coach of Saudi Arabia ahead of their upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ qualifying campaign.
Saudi Arabia will be seeking back-to-back World Cup appearances after featuring at Russia 2018.
The Green Falcons have been drawn into Group D of Asia’s Round 2 qualifying alongside Uzbekistan, Palestine, Yemen and Singapore. Only the group winner is guaranteed progression to the 12-nation Round 3.
The French-born Renard led Zambia and Côte d’Ivoire to the African title, and coached Morocco at Russia 2018.
