Liverpool players enjoyed their time away from football in style as they each jetted off to various destinations around the world during their summer break.
The 2018/19 season was an emotional rollercoaster for fans and players alike.
A gruelling 53-game season saw Jurgen Klopp’s men run Man City close in the Premier League before bringing the campaign to an end with a euphoric Champions League triumph.
The road to Madrid ensured the Reds’ season extended a further three weeks after their final league game and despite toppling Spurs in the Spanish capital, the occasion made it clear the players were in desperate need of a break.
For the majority of Klopp’s squad, however, international duty awaited in the days following as Nations League finals, Euro 2020 qualifiers and friendlies were on the agenda for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson.
With an intense pre-season ahead as Liverpool gear up to compete across several fronts next term, the players rightly put their feet up and took in the sights, sun and sea during their summer break.
Liverpool players took to Instagram over the four-week period and after much of England was pelted with rain in that timeframe, it’s good to see some of us saw some sunshine.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was one of the more active players, both on his travels and on social media, as he took time to relax in Ibiza and on Venice Beach, Los Angeles, but Liverpool was not far from his mind:
Trent Alexander-Arnold also spent some time on the west coast of America, with Fabinho too jetting off across the Atlantic as he and his wife took in the sights of the Big Apple and basked in the Californian sun:
The time off provided Gini Wijnaldum with the opportunity to open the ‘Cruyff Court Georginio Wijnaldum‘ in his hometown of Rotterdam.
And he also took to the water in Suriname for a spot of relaxation with family and friends before he met up with a familiar face in Miami:
Away from spending time with his Liverpool team-mate, Divock Origi was a busy man updating us on his travels which saw him spend the majority of his time away from the club by the sea:
The skipper celebrated his birthday with a spot of breakfast at the start of his holidays before turning his attention back to pre-season preparations:
Dejan Lovren spent his time in Croatia and played tennis for Marin Cilic’s charity, while Simon Mignolet travelled around Italy with his wife as the coast again came calling:
Meanwhile, Andy Robertson had fun for the five minutes he was “out of the shade,” which might explain his poor cannonball technique!

For James Milner and Adam Lallana, it was a month to feast their eyes on sport outside of England as the former visited Wrigley Field to watch the Chicago Cubs, and the latter watched on as Real Mallorca were sensationally promoted to La Liga.
The duo then met up for a round of golf at Valderrama Golf Club, home of the Andalucia Masters:
Meanwhile, Rhian Brewster stayed closer to home as he returned to London to compete in the FC Not Alone x CALM World Cup, and got a haircut wearing his Champions League winner’s medal:

With the exception of Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita, Sadio Mane, Alisson and Roberto Firmino, who are all competing in summer tournaments, the majority of Klopp’s squad will return to kick-start pre-season at Melwood on Saturday.
Liverpool’s pre-season schedule sees them play seven games, which includes two fixtures in England, a tour of the United States and visits to Edinburgh and Geneva.
