Former Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is likely to stay in France after Italian Serie A side Sampdoria have ended their pursuit of the player, as per France Football.
The former Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder has been linked with a move to Italy where Sampdoria were reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
However, as per the latest development, the Blucerchiati have dropped their interest in the 32-year-old.
The development means that Ben Arfa, who is now a free agent, is now likely to stay in France where a move to Nice cannot be ruled out.
