Real’s ‘bad memories’ of Levy could impact bids for Spurs duo

Florentino Perez’s nightmare negotiations with Daniel Levy over previous transfers could complicate Real Madrid’s interest in Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, according to reports.

A report in El Confidencial a few days ago talked up the possibility of Eriksen moving to Real in the summer with the Daily Mail claiming in the last couple of weeks that Spurs have accepted that the Dane would leave this summer.

The Denmark international is approaching the final year of his current terms and the club are reportedly preparing to sell before the start of the season rather than lose one of their biggest assets for nothing in 2020.

L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, claims on Thursday that Eriksen is very much on Real Madrid’s radar with Zinedine Zidane – who recently returned to the Bernabeu – also keen on his Tottenham team-mate Kane.

However, Real president Perez is ‘worried’ about making an approach for either player following his dealings in the past with Spurs chairman Levy.

Levy drove a hard bargain during the sales of both Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to Los Blancos with the Real hierarchy still nursing ‘bad memories’ from those transfers.

The report adds that Real ‘fear the difficulties of negotiating with Daniel Levy’ which makes any deals more difficult this summer.
