Sampdoria officially announced today that they have signed 21-year-old French winger Mehdi Leris from ChievoVerona. The player came through the youth system at Chievo and spent a year on loan with the Juventus Primavera, but returned to the Veneto club after failing to make an impression in Turin. Last season Leris made 23 league appearances for the Gialloblu and was one of the brighter spots in an otherwise poor campaign for the club. He is contracted with Sampdoria until 2024.
