Man United target ‘fine’ despite potential bargain move

Kostas Manolas is “fine in Rome” despite speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Manolas has established himself as one of the finest centre-halves across Europe, with clubs monitoring his future closely.

United were said to be ‘in pole’ position to sign the Greek recently, as they look to strength their centre-half options.

With one of the most tempting release clauses across the current market (£31.9m), United would likely face competition to sign Manolas, but the player himself says he is happy in the Italian capital.

“I face my career like it is my life,” he told Il Turista.

“I can go high and achieve excellent results, but I always have to keep my feet on the ground and remember where I started from. Football, like life, gives you nothing.

“You have to fight to achieve your goals. Now I am at an excellent level thanks to my family that has always supported my goal. My father was a doctor in Naxos, he left everything to help me. I did three workouts a day to reach a good level. And now I did it.

“I’m fine in Rome, I like my life.”
