Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino scored an audacious “no-look” goal as Brazil thrashed Peru in their final Copa America group game.
Peru keeper Pedro Gallese’s clearance ricocheted off Firmino’s back and hit the post before he slotted into an empty net for Brazil’s second goal.
Casemiro, Everton, Dani Alves and Willian also scored in a comfortable win in Sao Paulo.
Brazil are through to the quarter-finals after finishing top of Group A.
Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro bundled in the opener after Philippe Coutinho’s corner caused a goalmouth scramble at the back post.
Firmino made it 2-0 seven minutes later before Everton’s long-range strike caught Gallese out at the near post right on half-time.
Paris St-Germain defender Alves finished off a sublime one-touch passing move and Willian’s excellent curling strike made it 5-0 late on.
But Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus was denied a first Copa America goal when Gallese saved his penalty in the 93rd minute.
The victory was a stark improvement from their disappointing 0-0 draw with Venezuela on Tuesday when Tite’s side were booed off the pitch by home supporters.
The hosts will face one of the best third-placed countries from Group B or C in the quarter-finals but Peru must wait to see whether they are through after picking up four points from three games.
