Souness on-air anger: ‘Why are you looking at me like that?’

Graeme Souness lost his cool with Sky Sports presenter David Jones during their coverage of Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side dug deep after suffering three first-half injuries to hold Jurgen Klopp’s Reds to a stalemate at a crackling Old Trafford.

Asked for his opinion by Jones on whether he thought Liverpool played well, Souness replied: “I thought they did. I thought they dominated the box and around the 18-yard box.”

Before Souness stopped his analysis and said to Jones: “Why are you looking at me like that? Do you not agree with me?”

Souness took issue with a look of disagreement Jones had apparently given him off camera.

“I was just wondering whether they agree with you,” Jones replied, talking about his fellow pundits Nemanja Vidic, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, who struggled to contain their laughter.

Souness added: “It was just the way you looked.”

After the bust-up, Jones took to Twitter to poke fun at the incident with a Forrest Gump video and caption, writing: “Thanks for all your concern … Graeme Souness and I have sorted out our differences in the car park.”
