The best photos as Liverpool see off Burnley with 4-2 victory

Liverpool kept title dreams alive and the pressure on Man City by bouncing back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Burnley at Anfield.

The fight for the title is not over!

After a frustrating derby day at Goodison Park, the Reds wanted an immediate return to winning ways to keep title hopes on track.

Jurgen Klopp called for a big atmosphere to help the team through the awkward early kickoff, and the traditional flags were displayed pre-match.

It was an afternoon of crazy weather at Anfield, with extreme wind and bursts of torrential rain impacting proceedings.

And things started as badly as the weather, as Ashley Westwood opened the scoring directly from a corner on six minutes.

It should have been disallowed for a clear foul on Alisson, but thankfully it took only 13 minutes for Liverpool to respond.

Roberto Firmino drew the Reds level as he tapped in from close range, though surprisingly it was not with a trademark no-look finish.

Just 10 minutes later, the comeback was complete.

Sadio Mane curled home a delightful finish into the far corner to put the Reds ahead, as Klopp’s side showed great character to battle back.

Adam Lallana was back in the starting lineup and the midfielder enjoyed a good afternoon on his return, playing a part in both of Liverpool’s first two goals.

But it was game on again in stoppage time as Johann Berg Gudmundsson pulled one back for 3-2 to make it a nervy final few minutes.

It turned out to be only a few seconds though, as Mane went up the other end and killed the game once and for all with his second, rounding Tom Heaton and slotting home.

It was a special moment for the in-form Senegalese as it was his 50th goal for Liverpool—and even better was that it wrapped up a crucial three points.

The result was everything and Liverpool got it, with Klopp’s side showing they will not relent in their quest to bring the Premier League trophy to Anfield.

The search for title glory will now be put on hold as Liverpool travel to Germany for the decisive Champions League last-16 second leg against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
